A great drive doesn’t always have a destination. Sometimes, fresh air, stunning views, and winding roads are all you need to escape from the stresses of daily life.
Some roads are so beautiful that they become popular destinations for a getaway and many of these iconic drive spots are showcased in Kia’s collection of driving films. Check out some beautiful and breathtaking scenic roads from around the world!
Chapman’s Peak Drive, South Africa
One of our most recent films for the all-new Kia Stinger was shot at Chapman’s Peak Drive, a scenic mountain road that borders Cape Town, South Africa. The 9 km road hugs the mountain on one side and the clear blue ocean on the other, and is regarded as one of the most scenic roads in the world.
Punta Olimpica, Peru
Located between the two Peruvian cities of Chacas and Carhuaz, the Punta Olimpica is a mountain pass located 4,890 meters above sea level. As one of the highest mountain passes in Peru, the road offers fantastic views of the rocky peaks. Once regarded as one of the world’s most dangerous roads, the route is now paved for drivers seeking the thrill and adventure of its winding curves.
Côte d’Azur, France
France is known for having some of the best driving roads in the world and Côte d’Azur, also known as the French Riviera, is a stand-out location for exciting drives and incredible scenery. Providing excellent views of majestic mountains and the crystal Mediterranean coastline, the French Riviera stretch has no shortage of historic towns and urban hotspots for additional sightseeing.
Jebel Hafeet, United Arab Emirates
Jebel Hafeet has been voted one of the greatest driving roads on the planet by a number of international travel magazines. The winding ribbon of black tarmac that runs up the rocky terrain of the peak provides a striking visual experience with wonderful panoramas of the surroundings.
The smooth and well maintained roads of Jebel Hafeet are an excellent opportunity to test out and explore the performance and power of your car, which will suffer minimal wear and tear as it sweeps through the bends and curves ahead.
