KIA Motors donates to Emfuleni Primary School Library and Resource Centre
As part of International Book Giving day, which took place on the 14th of February, KIA Motors South Africa donated books to the value of R10,000 to the Imperial and Ukhamba Community Trust. Following the unbundling of Imperial Holdings earlier this year, the Trust – which was established in 1948 – has now also been renamed to the Motus Community Trust.
The Motus Community Trust assists selected schools in providing learners with a well-balanced education that empowers them to reach their potential while nurturing their self-confidence. The Trust is primarily involved in the establishment of school libraries as well as classroom intervention, curriculum development, management training, extracurricular events, co-circular activities, volunteer programmes and technical training projects.
One of the schools Motus Trust identified is the Emfuleni Primary School in Bophelong, Vanderbijlpark. KIA is proud to be part of this initiative and to have been a part of the fun-filled opening of the state-of-the-art new Emfuleni Primary School Library and Resource Centre, which took place on the 11th of April. KIA Motors CEO, Mr Gary Scott handed over the brand new books to the school, whereafter staff members from KIA’s head office, parts distribution centre and dealer network put their passion into action by reading to the excited learners at the school.
This fun-filled day saw many smiles and much happiness! KIA Motors is delighted to have the opportunity to give back and be part if this great initiative and is looking forward to the many possibilities that the future of this partnership holds.
